"La Vie en Rose" - Performed by Fleur Seule
Our video of the timeless song, "La Vie en Rose," performed at Tavern on the Green.
Written by Édith Piaf, with Louiguy and Marguerite Monnot, this song captures the elegance of 1940s Paris. With an arrangement for violins, violas, cellos, piano, bass, drums, and vocals, I wanted to create magic with the swelling sounds of strings and the emotional lyrics of love and longing. The music of the 1940s was beautiful and hopeful, and I believe was a great driving force of moral during World War II. "La Vie en Rose" has been performed by Édith Piaf, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and more recently by actress Marion Cotillard in her portrayal of The Sparrow. Tavern on the Green was the perfect setting for this enchanted, New York video. Enjoy!
